About Our Microneedling Services

West Haven’s Microneedling specialists

Microneedling is one of the treatments we get asked about most at Textures Salon in West Haven, usually by people who have tried every serum on the shelf and still are not seeing texture change. That is because most products work on the surface. Microneedling works underneath it. A device creates thousands of tiny controlled channels in the skin, and your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin to repair them. The result builds over the following weeks rather than showing up the next morning.

Our licensed estheticians consult before treating. We look at your skin, your history, what you have already tried, and what you are actually trying to fix. Depth gets adjusted by area, because the skin around your eyes is nothing like the skin on your cheeks. If microneedling is not the right call for your skin right now, we will tell you that and point you at what is. We have been doing skin work in West Haven since 1996 at 3490 W 3300 S, serving clients across Weber County.

Most people need a series of three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart to see the full change, especially for acne scarring. Many clients alternate microneedling with chemical peels to work on tone and texture at the same time. If brows are also on your list, take a look at microblading. Common Questions

What does microneedling do for your skin?

Microneedling creates thousands of tiny controlled channels in the skin, which triggers your body's natural healing response and increases collagen and elastin production. Over the following weeks that new collagen softens acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven texture. It works on the structure of the skin, not just the surface.

How many microneedling sessions do I need?

Most clients need three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Fine lines and general texture often respond by session two or three. Deep acne scarring usually takes the full six and sometimes more. You will see some improvement after a single session, but the real change is cumulative.

Does microneedling hurt?

We apply a topical numbing cream before treatment and let it sit, so most clients describe it as a vibrating or sandpapery sensation rather than pain. Bonier areas like the forehead and jawline are more noticeable than the cheeks. The treatment itself takes about 30 minutes once you are numb.

What is the downtime after microneedling?

Expect redness like a moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, and some tightness or light flaking for a few days after. Most people are comfortable going out the next day and back to makeup after 24 hours. Avoid the gym, saunas and direct sun for the first two days.

Is microneedling or a chemical peel better for acne scars?

Microneedling is generally better for indented or pitted acne scarring because it rebuilds structure underneath. Chemical peels are better for the discoloration and dark marks scarring leaves behind. Many clients do both on an alternating schedule, which is what we usually recommend for acne scarring with pigment.

Who should not get microneedling?

We do not treat active acne breakouts, open cold sores, active eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area, or anyone currently on accutane or within six months of finishing it. If you are pregnant or nursing, or have a history of keloid scarring, mention it at your consultation so we can adjust or recommend something else.

What should I do after a microneedling appointment?

Leave your skin alone for the first 24 hours. No makeup, no active ingredients, no exfoliating. Use a gentle cleanser and a plain moisturizer, and wear sunscreen every day after, because new skin is vulnerable to sun damage. We send you home with specific aftercare based on what we treated.
