About Our Brow Wax & Shaping Services

West Haven’s Brow Wax & Shaping specialists

Textures Salon has been shaping brows in West Haven since 1996. We are at 3490 W 3300 S, an easy drive from Ogden, Roy, Hooper and Clearfield, and brows are one of the services clients come back for on a schedule. A good brow wax is not about taking a lot off. It is about knowing exactly which hairs are working for the shape and which ones are not.

Every appointment starts by looking at your actual face. Where your brow should start, where the arch belongs for your eye shape, and where the tail should land are all determined by your bone structure, not by whatever shape is trending. We map it, show you, and then wax. If you have been growing brows out after years of over-plucking, tell us. We will shape conservatively and build toward the fuller brow instead of undoing your progress in one appointment.

Brow wax pairs naturally with a tint, and a lot of clients do both at once for a fuller look without adding a single hair. If you want your brows to stay put for weeks at a time, ask about brow lamination and tint. If you are tired of filling them in every morning, microblading is the longer-term option. Book brow wax online or call us at (801) 731-7880, and browse all our services if you want to combine appointments.

Common Questions

How long does a brow wax last?

Most people come back every three to four weeks. Brow hair grows on roughly a four week cycle, so that is when the shape starts to blur and stray hairs show up under the arch. If your hair grows fast or you want the shape crisp for an event, two to three weeks is common.

How much does a brow wax cost in West Haven?

Brow waxing is one of our most affordable services and pricing depends on whether you add a tint or combine it with lip and chin waxing. Call us at (801) 731-7880 for current pricing, or check the booking page where each service is listed with its price before you confirm.

Does brow waxing hurt?

It stings for a second and then it is over. The whole wax takes just a few minutes. Skin around the brow is thin, so it is more sensitive than a leg wax, but most clients say it is far quicker and easier than they expected. We finish with a soothing product to calm any redness.

How should I prep for a brow wax?

Let your brows grow for at least two weeks so there is enough hair to shape properly. Do not tweeze in between, because that is what creates uneven gaps we then have to work around. Skip retinol and exfoliating acids for a few days beforehand, since both thin the skin and make waxing more likely to lift it.

Can I get my brows waxed if I use retinol or accutane?

If you use retinol, stop three to five days before your appointment. If you are on accutane or have been within the last six months, we cannot wax you. The skin is too fragile and waxing can tear it. Tell us when you book and we will shape with tweezers instead.

What is the difference between brow waxing and brow lamination?

Waxing removes hair to create the shape. Lamination redirects the hair you already have so it lays flat and full, and it does not remove anything. Many clients do both, waxing to clean the outline and lamination to set the hairs inside it. Lamination lasts around six to eight weeks.

Will you take too much off?

No. We map and show you the shape before any wax goes on, and we err on the conservative side, especially with clients growing brows back out. You can always take more off at the next appointment. You cannot put it back on.
