West Haven’s Brazilian Wax specialists
Booking your first Brazilian wax can feel like a big deal. It really isn't. At Textures Salon in West Haven, it's a private, professional appointment with someone who does this every week and isn't fazed by anything. We keep it quick, we tell you what's happening as we go, and most clients are surprised how fast it's over. We're at 3490 W 3300 S, an easy drive from Ogden, Roy, Hooper and Clearfield.
The biggest thing that makes a Brazilian easier is coming back on a schedule. Hair that's waxed regularly grows back finer and sparser, and the appointments get quicker and more comfortable each time. Most clients settle into every four to six weeks. If you have been shaving, plan on two or three appointments before you feel that difference fully.
Brazilian waxing pairs well with our other waxing services. Add an underarm or leg wax and get it all done at once, or see our body waxing page for the full menu. Already booked for brows? Our brow wax and shaping fits into the same visit. Book your Brazilian wax online, call us at (801) 731-7880, or browse all our services.
How long does hair need to be for a Brazilian wax?
About a quarter inch, which is roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving. That gives the wax enough to grip so it comes out cleanly the first time. If it's much longer than half an inch, a quick trim before your appointment helps.
Does a Brazilian wax hurt?
The first one stings the most, and each one after that gets easier because the hair grows back finer. It's a quick pull, not a long pain. Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment helps a lot of first-timers.
How long does a Brazilian wax last?
Usually three to four weeks before you notice regrowth, and longer once you are on a regular schedule. Most clients rebook every four to six weeks.
What should I do before my appointment?
Gently exfoliate a day or two before, skip lotion on the area the day of, and wear loose, comfortable clothes. Avoid retinol or exfoliating acids on the area for a few days beforehand.
What should I avoid after a Brazilian wax?
For the first 24 to 48 hours, skip hot tubs, saunas, tanning, heavy workouts and tight clothing. After that, exfoliate gently a couple of times a week to help prevent ingrown hairs.
Can I get waxed on my period?
Yes, as long as you are comfortable with it. Wear a tampon or menstrual cup. Skin can be a little more sensitive that week, so some clients prefer to book around it.
Can I get a Brazilian wax if I use accutane or retinol?
If you use retinol on the area, stop three to five days before. If you are on accutane or have been in the last six months, we cannot wax you because the skin is too fragile. Let us know when you book.
